Park information: fees and gate times
What it costs and when the gates open
The figures below are the North West Parks conservation fees and gate times for the Pilanesberg National Park. They are set by the park authority, not by us, and they change — always confirm before you travel.
Conservation fees
Fees are charged per person and per vehicle, and were last revised on 1 December 2025. That revision was a steep one, particularly for international visitors, so figures you find on older websites are almost certainly wrong.
- Adults (SA citizens): R168
- Children 5–12 years (SA): R84
- Pensioners (SA only): R84
- SADC guests — adult: R385
- SADC guests — child: R275
- Adults, foreign nationals: R748
- Vehicles (sedan / LDV / SUV): R168
South African citizens should carry an identity document to prove citizenship, and SADC nationals a passport. Without it you will be charged the international rate.
Gate times
- November to February: 05h30 – 19h00
- March and April: 06h00 – 18h30
- May to August: 06h30 – 18h00
- September and October: 06h00 – 18h30
Entry is restricted from one hour before closing time. Plan to be at the gate well before then.
What this means for lodge guests
If you are staying inside the Black Rhino Game Reserve, you enter through the reserve's own private gate rather than one of the five public gates. Whether conservation fees are included in your rate or charged separately depends on the lodge — it is one of the things we confirm for you when you enquire, so there are no surprises at the gate.
Last checked July 2026 against the park authority's published tariffs. Fees and times are outside our control and can change without notice.
