Guided Game Drives
Open-vehicle game drives through the Pilanesberg with registered field guides. Scheduled, private, exclusive and group options.
Scheduled game drives run daily in 25-seater open game drive vehicles, exploring the 55 000 hectares of the Pilanesberg National Park. Alongside cheetah, giraffe, antelope and hyaena you will find Africa's Big Five in their natural habitat. No age restrictions.
Departures are from the Gametrackers desk in the Welcome Centre at Sun City Resort.
Scheduled game drive
Roughly 3 hours, 1–500 guests. Includes water, a soft drink and a packet of chips. Beverages are excluded — guests are welcome to bring their own.
R805 per adult, R405 per child under 16 (South African rate). International R895 / R450.
Exclusive game drive
Departing daily, early morning or late afternoon. The emphasis is on finding as many of the park's inhabitants as possible, with a registered field guide who brings extensive knowledge of the park. Five hours in an open safari vehicle. Runs seven days a week, year round, in any weather — this safari goes out even in the rain.
R12 600 per vehicle for 1–7 guests, including three beverages, bottled water and dry snacks.
Private game drives
Three hours, departing whenever your party requires. Snacks, picnic baskets and beverages can be arranged through hotel services at extra cost.
- Private 10-seater, 1–10 guests — R8 700
- Private 25-seater, 11–25 guests — R16 800
Group game drive
Morning or afternoon, 2–3 hours, minimum 20 guests. R730 per adult, R680 per child under 16. Beverages excluded.
Game drive and lunch
Six hours with other guests, departing 09:30 year round, 2–100 people. R1 690 per adult, R1 640 per child under 16.
Booking and cancellation
All reservations are confirmed in writing by email, subject to availability. Certain activities require a minimum number of guests and each has a maximum capacity. Full payment is due 7 days before the first activity booked. All changes must be in writing and received at least 7 days before the activity. A 100% cancellation fee applies to cancellations or amendments made within 7 days.
