PAIA Manual

Manual published in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). Last updated: 30 August 2026.

PAIA gives everyone a right of access to information held by private bodies where that information is required to exercise or protect a right. This manual explains what records we hold and how to ask for them.

3. Records we hold

Not every record listed here is automatically available. Access depends on the grounds set out in PAIA, and some records are protected — other people’s personal information, for example.

4. Records available without a formal request

Some information is published and needs no request at all: our rates, lodge descriptions, activities, wildlife checklists, contact details, this manual, and our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. All of it is on this website.

5. How to request a record

  1. Complete the prescribed request form (Form 2, published by the Information Regulator and available at inforegulator.org.za).
  2. Send it to the Information Officer at the address above.
  3. Give enough detail to identify the record, and say which right you are seeking to exercise or protect and how the record will help you do so.
  4. State how you would like to receive the record, and give a contact address.
  5. If you are asking on someone else’s behalf, attach proof that you may do so.

We will respond within 30 days. That period may be extended in the circumstances PAIA allows, and we will tell you if it is. If we refuse, we will tell you why and explain what you can do next.

6. Fees

A request fee and an access fee may be payable, at the rates prescribed by regulation under PAIA. We will tell you what is payable before doing the work, and no record is released until any fee due has been paid. A request by a person for their own personal information does not attract a request fee.

7. If we refuse

You may apply to a court for relief, as set out in section 78 of PAIA, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

8. Availability of this manual

This manual is published on this website and is available for inspection at our principal place of business during normal business hours. A copy will be provided on request; a fee may apply for a printed copy.
